By accessing or using Cap to Quad, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
Cap to Quad provides an interactive map and database of U.S. colleges and universities. The service allows users to explore institutional data, build personalized shortlists, and save favorite schools. Additional interactive features will be added over time. The service requires a Google account for authentication.
You must have a Google account to use Cap to Quad. Using Google to authenticate our users minimizes the amount of your personal data that we need to store on our own databases and servers, which helps protect your online safety and data privacy. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under your account. You may not share your account with others or allow others to access the service through your account.
If you are under 18 years of age, you may use this service only with the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you have such consent.
You agree not to:
The institutional data displayed on Cap to Quad is compiled from publicly available sources including the Common Data Set, IPEDS, and institutional websites. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all data is current or complete. Institutional data should be verified with the institution directly before making final enrollment decisions. Use of this service does not guarantee admission to any academic institution.
Cap to Quad is editorially independent. We do not accept funding, sponsorship, or advertising from any academic institution, and no institution can influence the data or presentation of its profile on our platform.
The Cap to Quad platform, including its design, code, maps, and organization of data, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the platform without permission. Your saved favorites and shortlists are your own, but are stored on our servers and subject to these terms.
Cap to Quad may offer paid subscription tiers in the future. If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to pay all charges at the prices, fees, and conditions disclosed to you at the time you subscribe. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with advance notice to subscribers. All fees are non-refundable, except as required by applicable law.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any errors will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cap to Quad and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to decisions made regarding college applications or enrollment based on information obtained through the service.
You may request that your account and all associated data be permanently deleted from our servers by contacting us at the email below. This is separate from revoking Google OAuth consent, which will not remove your data from our database.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or site notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. Accounts terminated for violation of these terms are not eligible for a refund of any paid fees.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri and the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
